Ben Stokes, the England Test Captain and a prominent all-rounder, was acquired by the Chennai Super Kings for an enormous sum of 16.25 crore at the IPL Auction. A native of New Zealand, Stokes is widely regarded as one of the top all-rounders in contemporary cricket. He has played a crucial role in several of England's recent triumphs, including the T20 World Cup 2022, the World Cup 2019, and a thrilling Ashes century at Headingley. Stokes burst onto the IPL scene in 2017 when he was signed by Rising Pune Supergiant for a record sum of INR 14.5 crore. He made an immediate impact by scoring an unbeaten 103 in his debut season and taking 3/18 in 12 matches. Stokes is a dynamic player who can attack the bowlers from the outset and test the batters with his disciplined bowling.
