Chennai Super King
Deepak Chahar, the swing bowler hailing from Agra, is back with CSK for the 2023 edition of the league after a fierce bidding war. Initially, SRH and Delhi Capitals started bidding for him, which was later joined by RR and CSK. However, CSK seemed determined to get their man back and finally succeeded by paying INR 14 crore. Chahar made his IPL debut for the Rajasthan Royals in 2012, represented RPS for two seasons, and was acquired by CSK in the eleventh edition of the league. Known for his ability to swing the new ball both ways with control, Chahar can be a lethal force at the top. He can also contribute with handy runs lower down the order, as evidenced by his recent match-winning knock against Sri Lanka and his 34-ball 54 against South Africa. After a breakthrough 2018 IPL season where he picked up 10 wickets in 12 matches, Chahar was rewarded with a call-up to the Indian limited-overs cricket team.
