About

Alzarri Joseph, hailing from Antigua, is a talented fast bowler known for his impressive pace and bounce. Originally starting out as a legspinner, Joseph's height and natural ability led him to transition into the role of a fast bowler. Joseph made a name for himself in his teenage years as one of the fastest bowlers on the school circuit in the Caribbean. His raw pace was on full display during the 2016 Under-19 World Cup, where he bowled the fastest delivery of the tournament at 147 kilometers per hour, dismantling the stumps of Zimbabwe's Brendan Sly. He emerged as the leading wicket-taker for the West Indies in the tournament, taking 13 wickets in six games with an impressive economy rate of 3.31. His strong performances at the Under-19 level and in domestic cricket earned him a quick promotion to the senior West Indies team. Joseph made his Test debut against India in August 2016, making an immediate impact by dismissing Indian captain Virat Kohli for just 3 runs. He later made his ODI debut against Pakistan in Sharjah. In 2019, Joseph was signed by the Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League (IPL) as a replacement for Adam Milne. In his very first IPL game against the Sunrisers Hyderabad, Joseph produced a stunning performance, recording figures of 6 for 12, which remain the best bowling figures by a bowler in IPL history. This exceptional display showcased his skill and potential on the big stage. Alzarri Joseph's natural pace, bounce, and ability to take wickets have marked him as an exciting prospect in West Indies cricket. With his potential and raw talent, Joseph has the opportunity to make a significant impact in the world of cricket.
