About

Mohammed Siraj's journey from a humble background to international cricket has been nothing short of remarkable. Hailing from Hyderabad, the son of an autorickshaw driver, Siraj discovered cricket in his school days and began playing with a cricket ball in 2015.In 2017, he caught the attention of IPL teams and secured a significant contract worth INR 2.6 crore. Shortly after, he donned the Indian jersey and made his T20 international debut against New Zealand.Siraj possesses a sturdy and athletic physique, with a deceptive run-up that often leads people to mistake him for a left-arm bowler. However, he is a right-arm pacer known for his ability to swing the ball into right-handed batsmen. Alongside his swing bowling, Siraj can also deliver a quick bouncer, which impressed his captain David Warner and mentor VVS Laxman during his stint with the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL.His potential translated into impressive performances when he became the highest wicket-taker for his state in just his second season of Ranji Trophy, claiming 41 wickets in nine matches. His consistency earned him a place in the Rest of India team and the India A squad for a tour of South Africa in 2017.Mohammed Siraj's rapid progression led him to the international stage, where he continues to make strides as a promising fast bowler for India. His journey serves as an inspiration to aspiring cricketers, highlighting the transformative power of hard work and determination in achieving success at the highest level of the sport.
